White Mountain Catholic Charities (WMCC) of Lakeside Arizona in Partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank has begun distributing Farmers to Families produce/dairy boxes to those in need in southern Navajo county, Arizona, which serves Native Americans from three reservations, Navajo, Hopi and Apache.
The boxes are available to anyone in need and contain fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy products.
The boxes are in addition to the Emergency Food Assistance Program food that is provided by the White Mountain Catholic Charities Food Bank to assist those who have been monetarily affected by COVID-19 due to layoffs or business shutdowns.
The boxes also come with an uplifting letter from the president, Donald J. Trump, detailing steps that are being taken to continue the fight against food insecurity.
WMCC currently receives 120 Farmers to Families boxes to distribute monthly and serves 600-800 households monthly, 60% of these families are Native American.
