In an interview with America magazine, Brian Corbin, executive vice president for Member Services at Catholic Charities USA, said the the CARES Act does a lot for Catholic Charities agencies in the U.S. in terms of government relief, but “there’s room to improve.”
From the interview: “Mr. Corbin said the vast majority of the nation’s 166 local Catholic Charities agencies will be able to apply for these loans if they need funding, but he said he is “very concerned” about the roughly 15 Catholic Charities agencies that employ more than 500 people. For example, Catholic Charities of New Hampshire, which runs a large food bank for that state, would exceed the limit and not qualify for certain aid.”
