Alert: Scammers Use Catholic Charities Name to Target Those Seeking Immigration Legal Services
Scammers, claiming to be Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) or individual Catholic Charities agencies, are duping victims into paying fees to “enroll” in non-existent programs. CCUSA encourages anyone who encounters this scam or suspects they have been solicited by a scammer to contact their local Catholic Charities agency. In addition, the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) offers resources on identifying and preventing immigration services fraud.
Estafadores, haciéndose pasar por Caridades Católicas de EE. UU. (CCUSA) o agencias individuales de Caridades Católicas, engañan a las víctimas para que paguen cuotas para inscribirse en programas inexistentes. CCUSA anima a cualquier persona que se encuentre con esta estafa o sospeche haber sido contactada por un estafador a que se ponga en contacto con su agencia local de Caridades Católicas. Además, la Red Católica de Inmigración Legal (CLINIC) ofrece recursos para identificar y prevenir el fraude en los servicios de inmigración.
