Family, Child and Senior Services

"If someone who has worldly means sees a sister or brother in need and refuses them compassion, how can the love of God remain in that person? Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth." 1 John 3:17-18

What We Do

Catholic Charities provides services to children, adults, families and communities. These foundational services include adoption, pregnancy services, foster care, education and employment support, senior care, criminal justice ministries and many other essential services that address the unique needs of local communities.

  1. Provide life-enriching adult education courses including GED completion, English language, computer literacy, parenting, and healthy family relationships.

  2. Offer life skills education to prisoners and returning citizens in order to decrease recidivism and to support their transition into life outside prison.

  3. Provide transportation and caregiver support for senior citizens to increase their quality of life.

Why We Do It

Each human being is made in the image and likeness of God, so each human being deserves both the help needed to reach his or her potential and the service to uphold his or her dignity. With special concern for those who are vulnerable and considered outcasts by society, Catholic Charities uplifts and seeks to protect the immeasurable value of each person it serves.

“The word of God tells us that the family is entrusted to a man, a woman and their children, so that they may become a communion of persons in the image of the union of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
