Catholic Identity and Leadership Development

"...let the greatest among you be as the youngest, and the leader as the servant."

What We Do

Catholic Charities USA fosters strategic partnerships between agencies and local parishes with the goal of supporting parishes as they commit to the social responsibility of the Gospel.

Why We Do It

Catholic Charities is fully grounded in the faith of Jesus Christ handed on by the Catholic Church. We serve everyone in need in union with the bishops and the local dioceses. We also draw from the rich resources of the Catholic faith, including its comprehensive social doctrine that bases its call to serve on the fundamental principle of the inherent dignity of every human being.

“The principle of solidarity, also articulated in terms of ‘friendship’ or ‘social charity,’ is a direct demand of human and Christian [fraternity].”

Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1939
