Seeking a Food Pantry Volunteer VISTA to assess volunteer needs at a rapidly expanding food pantry located in a vulnerable area with 55% of children living below the federal poverty rate.

 Analyze volunteer needs, factoring in the rapid growth of the number of clients being served and the operation moving to a client choice pantry model. Create a recruitment plan that will address immediate and needs of pantry volunteers. Devise a training program to ensure volunteers know and are comfortable with responsibilities. Develop a retention plan to ensure a solid volunteer base. Establish a communication system with key personnel, including the Volunteer Manager and the Pantry Manager.

This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
