Sister Donna Markham OP, PhD, president and CEO of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) indicated that today’s announcement by the Administration on religious freedom is a step in the right direction.
“Catholic Charities USA welcomes the Administration’s commitment to protect and promote religious liberty and its addressing of the Health and Human Services’ contraceptive mandate,” stated Sister Donna.
Catholic Charities USA looks forward to reviewing the details of the Executive Order and is hopeful that its application will allow Catholic Charities agencies to continue to serve all their clients in accordance with their inherent dignity while at the same time preserving the freedom of these agencies to serve in conformity with our beliefs.
