In honor of National Volunteer Month, Catholic Charities USA is taking a moment to recognize and thank the more than 300,000 volunteers from all of our local agencies across the nation. This week we recognized the finalists of CCUSA’s Volunteer of the Year award — eight remarkable individuals who exemplify the mission and spirit of Catholic Charities by helping their neighbors in need. We also announced this year’s Volunteer of the Year award winner, Alexis Weber volunteers for Catholic Charities Pittsburgh and uses her talents as a nurse to serve men who have become homeless or were at risk for homelessness at the St. Joseph House facility.
We thank Alexis and all of the amazing volunteers across the Catholic Charities network for their hard work serving our brothers and sisters in need. We pray their work and the efforts of our local agencies can continue to bring hope to others for many years to come.
