Week in Review – September 27, 2013

Catholic Charities USA celebrated its 103rd anniversary this week, marking over 100 years of advocacy and support for people in need.  That work continues in local agencies across the country every day.  This week alone, Catholic Charities of St. Petersburg opened a transitional shelter in Tampa Bay, FL for women and children without a place to live; Catholic Charities of Kansas City- St. Joseph joined with U.S. Bank and Yarco Companies to begin construction on a new veterans shelter; and Catholic Charities of Monterey joined with Dominican Hospital on a program to help troubled teens and adults leave gang-life behind. We are proud of the difference our local agencies have made throughout our history and reaffirm our commitment to serve and speak out on behalf of the tens of millions of people still living in need today.
