The Keep the Dream Alive Mass and Awards, co-hosted by CCUSA and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, is held annually to recognize leaders who have spent their careers and lives working to keep Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream alive by reducing poverty and promoting justice. The 2015 Keep the Dream Alive Mass will be held Friday, January 9, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
The PSM Regional Trainings are weekend conferences designed for parish staff and volunteers, diocesan staff and volunteers, and Catholic Charities leaders in social ministry to learn more about the Catholic social mission and discover effective strategies to respond to need and injustice. Upcoming trainings include April 17-18, 2015 in Charlottesville, Va. and May 15-16, 2015 in Portland, Maine.
The National Poverty Summit brings together academics, policymakers, and non-profit leaders for a substantive and engaging discussion about ending poverty in the United States. CCUSA’S Annual Gathering is the pre-eminent gathering for Catholic Charities professionals, volunteers, and partners to advance our work, develop poverty reduction strategies, and celebrate our shared identity. Attendees at the gathering come away with innovative program ideas, templates for future work, and new skills to broaden their community’s commitment to fight poverty. The 2015 Annual Gathering will be held September 10-12, 2015 in Omaha, Nebraska.
AIDE is designed to equip the Catholic Charities network and diocesan staff for their roles in disaster preparedness and response. The Institute provides participants with the skills, understanding and tools necessary to ready their agency and diocese for disaster response and preparedness.
Through a collaboration between the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Charities agencies have the opportunity to take part in a unique learning experience designed exclusively for senior leaders of Catholic Charities organizations. This meeting for executive leaders of Catholic Charities local agencies is hosted at CCUSA’s headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. Topics of discussion include a thinking through of Catholic moral theology as it applies to social services, as well as social enterprise, new partnerships with Catholic schools of social work, update on our collaboration with CLINIC and MRS, and much more.
The O’Grady Institute provides a continuum of formation opportunities for diocesan directors of Catholic Charities agencies, including retreats, webinars, and tours. Through advanced study and reflection on scripture, history, spirituality, and theology, diocesan directors may further form their hearts to strengthen them in their ministry.
The Leadership Institute is a week-long interactive training uniquely designed for Catholic Charities leaders and those being groomed for higher levels of responsibility. The Institute provides an opportunity to deepen your commitment to the mission and vision of Catholic Charities, enhance and strengthen your spirituality, leadership, and management skills, and develop a personal plan of action.
