CCUSA Social Innovation Award

CCUSA's Social Innovation Award recognizes successful socially innovative programs being managed by Catholic Charities agencies across the country. Two awards will be presented at each of the 20 regional gatherings taking place across the country between 2013 and 2014.  Recipients of the award each receive $5,000 that must be reinvested in the award-winning program.

 Social Innovation Award recipients to-date are as follows:

  • Catholic Charities of East Tennessee’s Samaritan Place, and Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Evansville’s Neighbor to Neighbor program, during the Partners in Excellence Regional Gathering event that took place in Kentucky in April 2013. Read full press release here. 

  • Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque’s Jail and Prison Ministry, and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Omaha’s Micro-Business Training and Development Program, during the Partners in Excellence Regional Gathering event that took place in Des Moines, Iowa in April 2013.   • Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford’s El Centro De Desarrollo y Reafirmacion Familiar and the Diocese of Providence Office of Community Services & Catholic Charities’s Cabrini Program during the CCUSA Partners in Excellence Regional Gathering event that was held in Portland, Maine in June 2013.   • The Spirit of Hope program, run by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and Catholic Charities Northwest Florida’s Circles Northwest Florida program during  the CCUSA Partners in Excellence Regional Gathering event that was held in New Orleans, Louisiana in October 2013.   • New Life Homes, run by Catholic Charities Diocese of Yakima, and Vinegar Flats Community Farm, a program of Catholic Charities of Spokane, each received an award recognizing their innovative approaches to reducing poverty in their communities during the CCUSA Partners in Excellence Regional Gathering event that was held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in November 2013.  Read full press release here.
